Genocide of the snails

Our garden has been growing pretty well since we planted it on Memorial Day, however, I have been noticing that the leaves on some of our produce is getting eaten. I have noticed snails in our flower bed, so I figured that's what it was. The other day we bought snail repellant made for vegetable gardens. I followed the directions and the next morning dead snails were everywhere. I counted them while I picked them up and through them in a bucket; there were 101 snails. I committed genocide of the snails.
